Lose Body Fat by Working Out Less and Eating More?!

How @nileshzore33 took off 2+ inches around his waist by changing how much he ate and worked out.

I used to spend almost 3 hours in the gym, but wasn’t getting the results I wanted. I guess I wasn’t working out properly. I remember taking that first picture and was feeling so down. I was feeling overweight, unconfident, and lost. After all the embarrassment, I still decided to move forward. All I wanted to do was to get into good shape and build more muscle.

Diminishing Returns

The law of diminishing returns is when the benefits of doing something are much less than the energy invested. Doing more does not mean more results. Nilesh hit a plateau in his fat loss because he was expending too much energy, for too long, and too frequently. His performance in his workouts diminished significantly after each and every hour that went by. Our bodies are adaptation machines and there's a reason why we can't endlessly push ourselves no matter how much willpower we have.

Recovery > Workouts?

A 1 hour workout is only 4% of your day. 96% of your results are made outside the gym. Nilesh's body had to recover from his 3 hour extravaganza which means he had to eat...a lot. More than he should be to burn body fat because naturally the more energy you burn, the more that your body wants to consume back. This is why slaving away on a cardio machine for hours doesn't work. You eat back what you burn and more if you don't monitor your nutrition.

Food Is Energy

You must burn more energy than you're consuming to lose weight. So how do you eat more and lose body fat? Well, consuming more calories means more energy available. More energy available means better performance. Better performance means higher quality workouts. Higher quality workouts means more efficient recovery. More efficient recovery means more energy that can be used to burn calories. Rinse and repeat.

Are You Controlling Your Energy?

Controlling workout duration and frequency helped Nilesh properly recover from his workouts. Combine that with increasing calories in the form of protein gave him more energy to help build his strength. The result is less body fat and more muscle!
